The reality is that this is serious business and there are many success stories. No, its not like an episode of 90 Day Fiancée but a much more refined process.
Companies now offer discounted tours to come and enjoy the cities where these women live and have professional matchmakers assist with the process.
With everyone using video chat, there is virtually no issues with being catfished, so you can talk to a lady one on one even before you make any travel plans.
But why are men looking for Russian or Ukrainian women for marriage ?
If you ask the matchmakers or operators of these companies why, they’ll tell you that these are very loving and loyal women.
It is true that there can be the possibility of women looking for sugar daddies or a green card, but this is where the matchmaker comes in to vet out the gold daggers.
But what is the real reason why this is now so popular ? I have a couple of theories why I think this is.
First, it does seem that many men are seeking traditional wives who want to live as a mother of their children, not independent working women.
Second, it is no secret that the men who live in these countries can be a little more prone to being abusive to women. Don’t shoot the messenger here, authoritarian governments do seem to have different values when it comes to women. Again, not stereotyping or saying everyone is like this but it does happen.
Third, if a man marries a woman who has a career and then has her stop working this can lead to some bad feelings over time.
You ask aren’t there women like that here in the U.S. ? Of course, but how hard is it to find them ?
A simple scroll through some profiles on a dating app or conversation with a matchmaker will reveal that the traditional women are definitely in the minority. Yes, some guys like the women who say “I can live without a man or don’t need a man”.
This trend in the U.S. away from the old traditional stay at home housewife may be the simple answer to why are men looking for Russian or Ukrainian women for marriage ? Maybe all this independence is not such a good thing after all.
